Family tributes after victim of Tamworth stabbing revealed

Tributes paid to a victim who was stabbed to death in a late-night attack after he was named as Daniel Wyatt.

A number of tributes were paid to him as his brother appealed for anyone with information to contact police.

The victim was fatally stabbed in Kerria Road, Tamworth , at around 11pm on Friday.

Daniel Alston, 27, of Bancroft, Tamworth, was charged with murder and was due to appear before Cannock magistrates on Monday morning.

On Facebook, Mr Wyatt's brother Julien wrote: "Thanks for all your kind messages and words of support.

"I've not got time or frankly the patience to reply to everyone right now but my brother lost his fight, his body just could not deal with the extent of injury.

"I'm sorry I couldn't help in any way or do something to prevent this happening Dan.

"Love you bro, watch over us please xxx"

He also shared a Staffordshire Police post about the tragedy and added: "If anybody was in the area, saw anything or heard anything, please come forward and let the police know."

Mr Wyatt, who lived in Sorrel, Tamworth, was rushed to hospital with multiple stab wounds but he could not be saved.

His identity was confirmed by Staffordshire Police .

The force said in a statement: "We can confirm that the 30-year-old man who was stabbed in Sorrel, Tamworth, on the night of Friday September 8 has sadly died.

"A 27-year-old man who has been in police custody since his arrest has now been charged with murder.

"Our thoughts are with the victim's family at this time."
