ANGRY TAMWORTH mums gathered at Tamworth’s Sports Direct store in Ventura Park yesterday (Friday) to hold a peaceful protest against the treatment of a 25-year-old woman who claims she was thrown out of the store’s Nottingham branch for breastfeeding her baby.

Over a dozen local breastfeeding mums turned up at the Tamworth store to feed their babies at the ‘nurse-in’ at 2pm.

The protest was one of over 60 happening across the country.

Nicola Holmes who lives in Tamworth and has a three-year-old son and a baby daughter, told the Herald: “It doesn’t matter whether you’re breastfeeding or bottle feeding I will support a woman’s right to feed her child.

“All that woman wanted from Sports Direct was an apology and they haven’t apologised.”

The Herald has so far been unable to contact Sports Direct.

Good for them! I personally will not use Sports Direct until I see a confirmed policy change. By the way, I am man who fully supports their right to breast feed whenever and wherever necessary.
