CAROL Dean Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for Tamworth, has welcomed the announcement by Ed Miliband that One Nation Labour is planning to freeze energy bills until the start of 2017.

Carol was joined by other local Labour campaigners in the town centre on Saturday with a petition to ask David Cameron to freeze energy prices now.

Carol said: “Under David Cameron, Britain’s families are facing a cost of living crisis. Prices have risen faster than wages in 38 of the 39 months that David Cameron has been in Downing Street and energy bills have gone up by almost £300.

"David Cameron’s failure to tackle rip-off bills has meant that many people are struggling to pay their bills.

“I know how people in Tamworth are struggling with the rising cost of living. Many people we spoke to on Saturday told me how worried they are about their energy bills. Some said they even have to make a choice between heating their homes or buying food, especially in the winter.

“When the price of energy increases energy companies pass this on but when it drops consumers don’t see their bills fall.

“David Cameron can’t deal with the cost of living crisis because he stands up for a privileged few, not for ordinary families. David Cameron has cut tax for people on over £150,000 a year while raising it for everyone else.

“Ed Miliband says Labour will freeze prices until the start of 2017 if Labour wins the next election. And he says we will break up the big energy companies so that we can all get a fair deal.

“This will save a typical household £120 and an average business £1,800.

“But people round here need help now. So I’m calling on David Cameron to freeze our bills now. And I’m asking local people to sign the petition so that the voices of Tamworth are heard loud and clear in Downing Street.

You can sign the petition by going to www.labour.org.uk/freeze-that-bill. ”

Will Carol Dean also pledge that MPs cannot claim their energy bills as legitimate parliamentary expenses? Because seeing people who earn a basic income of £66k a year scrounging off the tax payer, is one of the main reasons politicians are so despised by hard working people.

It's all a Labour scam to try and get votes on the back of the utility bills outcry. As usual they will get into power and DO Nothing!! Or "Freeze It" when what we Require is a CUT of at least 50% to a reasonable level, a recession is on and they are increasing bills, when their costs have NOT Raised since 2011 and very stable before too....They then use (Legal but WRONG) Tax avoidance schemes to open companies in tax free havens then loan the UK Company Billions, then the UK Company loans that £s out again at LOWER than they Loaned IT!!! SCAM! SCAM!! Miliband then tries to jump on the bandwagon, when the truth is; he will do NOTHING as the energy companies are his FRIENDS!
