ALCOCK DEPARTURE: Lambs boss Gary Mills has confirmed that goalkeeper Danny Alcock – last season's Player of the Year – will not be returning to the club.

With Mills having to work with a similar, if slightly reduced budget this season, he has been forced to look elsewhere for a keeper.

Mills said: "Danny will not be coming back.

"As a manager, I have to make very hard decisions and this has been one of them.

"Danny has done fantastically well for me.

"I think he's produced the best form of career while at Tamworth.

"He's done well for me and I've helped him as well.

"He's disappointed not to be coming back again next season but we have parted on good terms and maybe we will work together again at some stage in the future.

"I wish him all the best."
