GLASCOTE Social Club was the venue for one of the most eagerly awaited fights of the year as two of the country's top teenage kickboxer's did battle for the world ring sports association's 48kg British title.

Tamworth Kickboxing Academy's Ellis Blake took on Ben Taylor from Derby Panthers.

The fight was contested over five two-minute rounds.

Blake was naturally the crowd favourite, fighting on home ground to a packed house.

Taylor was already a ring fighting champion while Blake was a mat fighting champion.

Blake (below) dominated every round, fighting at long range and keeping Taylor on the end of his kicks.

Round one saw Blake put his opponent on the back foot right from the bell and this set the tone.

The rest of the fight followed the same pattern and at the end of the contest Blake's won a unanimous decision.

In a great night all round for TKA, eight fighters in total were competing.

There were win's for Simey Doherty, Ben Cardin, Wez Butterworth, Rich Smith and Jake Slater.

TKA young guns were also in action at the Stealth fight night in Coalville.
