DALE Belford has admitted his decision to leave Tamworth was made with a heavy heart but he could not pass up the chance to manage Atherstone Town.
Lambs legend Belford has replaced former Tamworth reserve team manager Daren Fulford at Sheepy Road.
He said: "I have the upmost respect for Gary Mills at Tamworth.
"Gary and Darron Gee are people who I have loved working with and there are a lot of great people at Tamworth.
"But this is an opportunity for me to cut my teeth as a manager.
"I have been a player, coach, youth manager and assistant but this is a new era and this is a real challenge for me."
