Taekwondo: Tamworth ace Andrew Deer saw his World Taekwondo Grand Prix bid ended at the second round stage last weekend.

Competing in the under-80kg division on Sunday, Deer revelled in the partisan home atmosphere as he beat Germany's world champion Tahir Guelec 17-8 in the first round.

But he was then defeated 7-3 to Steven Lopez, from the United States in the second round.

Deer's weight category was won by his Great Britain team-mate Lutalo Muhammad who defeated Russian Albert Gaun in the final in a sudden death, after theior contest had finished 1-1 in three rounds.
